Jodhpur RIFF is known as the Rajasthan International Folk Festival. This festival is a five-day-long celebration of the traditional culture and art of Rajasthan. Jodhpur RIFF is celebrated in and around the Mehrangarh Fort, Jodhpur. This annual music and art festival is celebrated to promote the art and culture of Rajasthan. This international folk festival is one of India’s most fascinating and ingenious festival.

The Jodhpur RIFF was created by the current Maharaja HH Gaj Singh II, to offer a stage to the talented unheard folk musicians and the international sponsor of this festival is Sir Mick Jagger. Jodhpur RIFF is a non-profitable and charitable project of two biggest heritage trusts of India – Jaipur Virasat Foundation and Mehrangarh Museum Trust. The UNESCO recognizes this most significant festival as a People Platform for Creativity and Sustainable development.

This Jodhpur RIFF (Rajasthan International Folk Festival) was started in the year of 2007. In this music festival, around 250 artists come from all over the world to become part of this fantastic festival celebration.

Highlights of Jodhpur RIFF 2020

Rajasthani Artists:- Many well known Rajasthani folk artists like Shamsuddin (Maand), Chiranji Kanji vocalist Anwar Khan and musician Dare Khan Manganiyar and Kamaycha Ghewar are expected to perform in this biggest festival. The Living Legends series will be performed by four artists- Kadea Khan Lang, Lakhs Khan Manganiyar, Sawan Khan Manganiyar, and Pampa Khan Manganiyar. The other talents also performed in Jodhpur RIFF by Asia manga along with Butter Manganiyar and Dhun Dhun Group.

Jayateerth Mevund:- The major attraction of the Jodhpur RIFF will be the exceptional vocalist who proceeds from the Kirana Gharana and master of Daasavani (word of a devotee) and Santvaani (words of saints) musical tradition of Maharashtra and Karnataka.

Sondorgo:- The another highlight of RIFF 2020 will be a band from Hungary named as Sondorgo. This band plays the unique styles of music using 17 instruments.

Davy Sicard:- Well known for the unique music with traditional instruments and contemporary European instruments, and he is from the island of La Reunion.

Bixiga 70:- Most loved contemporary instrumental music band from Brazil.

By Air:- Jodhpur has its Domestic airport, which is connected to the many major cities of India. The Mehrangarh Fort is only 8 km away from the airport.

By Train:- Jodhpur Railway station is connected to many parts of India. The distance from Jodhpur railway station to Mehrangarh fort is 6 km.
