Mumbai: IndiGo, the popular low-cost airline well-known for its affordability and punctuality, introduced expansion in its network with new direct flights from Mumbai to Seychelles. The announcement for the budget-friendly flights to Seychelles was made on February 28, 2025, and the flights will start their operations on March 22, 2025.
IndiGo’s New Direct Flights from Mumbai to Seychelles Schedule
IndiGo’s newly introduced direct flight from Mumbai to Seychelles International Airport will start operations on March 22. IndiGo’s 6E 1855 will depart from Mumbai at 7:20 am and will reach its destination by 10:35 am. The same flight from Seychelles will depart at 6:15 pm to reach its returning destination at 12:35 am. The airline has further announced that the direct flight between these two prominent destinations will operate four times a week, including Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.
IndiGo Challenges Air Seychelles with New Direct Flight
The latest announcement by India’s one of the fastest growing airlines, IndiGo, has directly challenged Air Seychelles, as until now, the only direct flight between the two destinations was offered by Air Seychelles. The national airline has been providing one weekly Saturday direct flight between the two destinations. However, IndiGo has announced four direct flights from Mumbai to Seychelles, directly challenging Air Seychelles. Additionally, IndiGo’s direct flight ticket fare’s affordability (15,000 INR) against its competitor’s expensive ticket price (21,800 INR) increases the possibility of travelers shifting from Air Seychelles to IndiGo services.
IndiGo’s Strategy to Expand its Operations
Currently, the popular affordable airline, IndiGo, operates flights across 90 domestic and 35 international locations. However, with the launch of these direct flights, it will now operate flights across 39 international destinations. Before this announcement, the airline had already announced Langkawi and Mauritius flights from Bangalore, Medina flights from Hyderabad, and Jaffna and Penang flights from Chennai, making Seychelles the sixth addition to its expansion strategy.
