Ramathra Fort is located in Sapotra Village, district Karuali in Rajasthan. It is the most beautiful place to visit. Ramathra Fort is located between the two famous wildlife reserves – Ranthambore Tiger Reserve in Sawai Madhopur and Keoladeo Ghana Bird Sanctuary in Bharatpur. Ramthara Fort is 350 years old fort; it is believed that Lord Rama camped on this place while he is travelling to Lanka that’s why this fort named as Ramathra Fort. The Maharaja of Karauli established the Ramathra fort, but now its belongs to Thakur Brijendra Raj Pal. The whole fort is constructed with the stone of Karauli and traditional designs.
When you are sitting on the top of the hill, it offers the beautiful view of the countryside, rugged scrub of Daang plateau, farmland and Kalisil lake. Kalisil Lake is very large, and the main attraction of Kalisil Lake are water birds. This Kalisil lake was formed 50 years ago from the Kalisil river for the benefits of farmers.
