Travel Ministry of India announced that soon passengers will be able to cancel there flight tickets with a full refund within 24 hours of booking if flight is four days away.
Ministry also introduced some other guide lines for cancilation of flight tickets
1.- Airlines cannot charge rescheduling or cancilation fees. Passengers have to pay only fare difference.
2.- If passenger wants to do some correction in his name as long as it’s up to three characters within 24 hours of booking they don’t have to pay any charges.
3.-Airlines cannot levy cancellation charges more than total of basic fare and fule surcharge.
4.- If due to a late flight passenger miss his connecting flight Compensation to be paid in following slabs: Rs 5,000/- for delay between 3 and 4 hours, Rs 10,000/- if delay between 4 and 12 hours, Rs 20,000/- if delay more than 12 hours
5.- Passenger must be refund the full value of ticket if flight is cancelled 24 hours prior to departure
